OBJECTIVES
◼ To provide all services and support free of charge.
◼ To provide hope and comfort through emotional, spiritual, and community support.
◼ To provide medical information and visitation support in cooperation with clients, hospitals, and the medical profession.
◼ To provide accommodation, financial assistance, and other support services as needed.
◼ To educate clients and their families to empower them to live with health and dignity.
◼ To work with the community and various organizations, educational institutions, and the government to promote awareness and educate the public.
◼ To strive to enable persons living with illness to access services, social and employment opportunities free from stigma and discrimination.
◼ To coordinate education and awareness campaigns through community outreach.
HISTORY
Hogar de Esperanza started operating in March 2016, and in March 2017 we became a legal operating nonprofit organization in Ecuador, Canada and the USA. The idea for the organization arose after learning about different patient’s personal hardships. Many of people’s problems steamed from the lack of HIV knowledge and stigma among the Ecuadorian society.
By June 2024, our organization has been providing approximately 2000 meals monthly and accommodated guests a significant number of times. Moreover, we have extended medical aid, medications, transportation, clothing, and various forms of assistance to thousands of individuals.
