Hogar de Esperanza is dedicated to transforming the way social programs are achieved. You’ve heard the phrase, “Teach a person to fish.”
Well—this program is designed to do exactly that.
Over the past few years, we have walked through the jungle, traveled the rivers, and met with community leaders and families in Amazonian regions. We have listened, learned, and gained a deeper understanding of their culture, their strengths, and their most urgent needs—so we know how to support them in ways that are respectful, effective, and lasting.
Key Goals of the Amazon Project
Provide Sustainable Income
This project empowers families to generate their own income by using the land and natural resources they already have. By strengthening local production and ensuring fair market access, communities can build economic independence and long-term stability.
Education in Production & Marketing
We will educate and equip communities with the knowledge they need to successfully grow, process, and market their products. Through training and research on best agricultural practices, families will learn how to produce high-quality, marketable goods that generate lasting income and strengthen local economies.
Build a Self-Sustaining Model of Social Support
This project is designed to generate profit with purpose. Revenues from the cooperative will be reinvested directly back into the communities—funding healthcare, education, and vital social programs. This ensures long-term sustainability, reducing dependency on external donations and empowering communities to thrive on their own.
First Stages of the Program
Land Purchase
Establishing a Home Base
Our main operations center will be located in the community of Puerto Morona, in the Amazon region close to the Peruvian border, where we have secured 40 hectares of land. This property will serve as the home base for our Amazon Project—housing our education center, health center, processing facility, and experimental gardens. It ensures stability, ownership, and a long-term commitment to the communities we serve.
Product Inventory
Identifying Market Opportunities
In the first stage of the project, we will identify the products that communities are already growing and assess their potential for marketability. We will focus on how to improve production, enhance quality, and develop effective strategies for selling these goods in viable markets. This ensures that families can build on what they already know and have—turning local resources into reliable income.
Land Use
Ancestral Forest & Experimental Gardens
Experimental gardens will be established to test new crop varieties and identify best practices for increasing yield, improving quality, and ensuring sustainable production. Through local agricultural research will help communities can grow products that are both marketable and climate-resilient.
Alongside this, we will preserve and protect Amazonian biodiversity by creating an Ancestral Forest dedicated to conserving native trees, plants, and wildlife. This area will honor cultural traditions while safeguarding the natural environment for future generations.
Our First Social Project
Expanding Access to Education & Technology
We are establishing a computer learning lab in a school serving 380 children. This will open the door to vital digital resources and provide students with essential computer and technology skills for their future.
In addition, through collaboration with Ecuadorian universities, we will develop remote learning opportunities that allow youth to take university-level courses from within their own community. This breaks down geographic barriers and creates new pathways to higher education and long-term success.

Our team of experienced professionals are deeply committed to advancing the Amazon Project with both passion and expertise. As the foundational stages are completed, we will move forward to launch new initiatives, ensuring rapid progress and meaningful impact within the communities we serve.
Community Partnership and Shared Prosperity
We currently have 20 Amazonian communities that have formally joined this initiative. Each community will dedicate 2 hectares of land, allowing us to collectively expand production while building local economic strength.
Our cooperative model ensures that products are processed, marketed, and sold through our project infrastructure. Community members will receive fair market value for what they produce, generating stable and much-needed income for their families.
Profits generated through the sale of products will be reinvested back into the communities, funding critical social programs such as healthcare, education, and prevention initiatives. This model creates a cycle of sustainability—where success fuels even greater impact.
Education & Learning Center
We will offer workshops and courses in collaboration with universities and subject-matter experts, focusing on best practices in agriculture, sustainability, and community development.
Our Education Center will include accommodations and classrooms, providing both theoretical learning and hands-on training directly within our production areas. This ensures that knowledge is applied immediately in real-world settings—reinforcing skills and building local expertise.
Medical Center
We plan to develop a Medical Center that combines the traditional medicinal knowledge of Amazonian communities with modern scientific healthcare practices. By honoring ancestral wisdom while providing access to contemporary medicine, we will promote a complete and culturally respectful approach to health.
The center will serve as the base of operations for medical teams both local and international conducting outreach missions in remote areas of the Amazon. Essential medical care will be available from a fully operating clinic to patients with limited access to health services.
Tourism Development
Our training programs will include courses for local tour guides, empowering community members to share the rich culture, history, and biodiversity of the Amazon. Working in close partnership with the communities, we will develop a sustainable tourism initiative that includes accommodations and guided eco-tours for visitors who want to experience the region firsthand.
This initiative will not only create an additional source of income for families, but also provide travelers a meaningful and authentic connection to Amazonian life—supporting conservation, culture, and community prosperity.
